Strengths and Weaknesses:
Written in this format:
Unit A > Unit B
Where Unit A is weak against Unit B

Infantry > Cavalry
Mounted Units > Pikeman, Longswordsman, Urza Guard
Pikeman > Paviser? Infantry?
Most units > Musketeer
Musketeer > Fast units (Cavalry, Savage Cavalry) and Long-range units (Archer, Mage)
Paviser > Mage
Mage > Fast units
Paviser > Cavalry
Melee units are blocked by Pavisers, making them vulnerable to ranged units.
Arbalist > ? (Maybe fast units)
Fast units > Pikemen/Paviser depends. Mounted > Pikemen, others > Paviser
Savage Units > ? (Savages are more difficult to kill because of their special abilities, but Savage Infantry aren't too hard if you have heavy-damage units. Mages are quite effective against Savage Archers, and probably Pikemen against Savage Cavalry while having Mage attack too. Hedvig is the only Savage Arbalist, her units are normal Arbalists.)
Use pavisers like walls to block units so your other units can destroy enemies that are blocked.
Unfortunately, mages are EXTREMELY OP against any melee units, especially when they all hone in on a single hero (Carter died in less than five seconds when this happened). Best way to kill mages is to rush them with mounted units (make sure they don't get distracted by pikemen or pavisers or they will insta-die) or to shoot them with archers/musketeers. Mages tend to target either close units to them or distracted units. I have a strategy where I use pavisers to block units and pikemen to block mounted units and I then use mages to destroy the hero commanding the squad that is blocked. I suggest you try that too.

Strategy:
1-4 Columns 4 4 Types
This strategy works by dividing up troops into four main types.
Tanks-Heroes who can take lots of damage.
Damagers-Heroes who do lots of damage.
Supporters-Heroes that tend to be mages (but not limited to mages) that buff your other units.
Cavalry-Horse riders.

In your front column, place all your tanks (e.g. Carter, Reinhard, Shazzo*, Joan [maybe], etc.)
In your second column, place damagers/ maybe a few supporters (e.g. William, Merlin, Belthor, Gawain, Helmar, Shazzo*, etc.)
In your third column, place ranged damagers and supporters (e.g. 3* archers, Sarky, Robinhood [maybe], Edward IV, Circe, healers, etc.)
In your back column, place Cavalry and maybe ONLY ONE RANGED DAMAGER/SUPPORTER. (Good Cavalry = Cannon, Lancelot, Galahad, Uriah [if you can get but not necessary unlike the rest of these], Nicolai, and Sarky.]
