Spring Break-Two More Days!

Two days until Spring Break... not sure what I'm celebrating as this doesn't mean I will have more information to blog about.
Also, I have a bad habit of forgetting to finish what I start...
I'll try finishing my guide over break.

Well Then

I'm basically out of material...
Yup. I don't even know what to blog about anymore.

What is this bug?
I literally count at least ten reports on the front page of the forums on this DeafultText bug....
I'll try looking into that source code that person sent me a while back...

2.1.1

Well then...
"Dear lords:

Some players complain that game often crashes and we have found the reason causing the bug and it will be completely fixed in the v2.1.1. Sorry for trouble caused and decide to compensate you 50tcrystals. Thanks a lot!
Have a great time!

MiniWarriors Operation Team

Well then...
A new version just to fix a single bug... not worth it...
Oh well, 2.1.1 will probably release for Android too.

Update to Fix Bugs

Why doesn't Triniti just make an update to fix all the bugs?
That would seem like a very good idea to me...
Instead they just think adding more heroes is a good idea...

Top Players

I would not suggest using the "Top Players" to judge which heroes are good because:

-The top players are ranked by AP and most of them just spam pavisers and use bad rallies just so they can get AP.
-AP doesn't matter in many circumstances.

(No Name)

Triniti is a really interesting case of a game company....
They have good game ideas which start out great and then just enter a downhill slope that takes players off....
Every new update, and the game dies a little...
I'm going to try and stick with game, but I have lots of reasons to quit right now...
And quitting that would mean I'd quit this blog.
Kenny and Wagner have already quit...

Remember, quitting Mini Warriors doesn't necessarily I'll be leaving all games.
I'll still play other games, and if you want to know where to find me you can check out the following places:

-Geometry Dash Forums
-Minecraft Forums (I don't go on here very often but I do go on there sometimes... mostly to publish maps)
-minecraftmaps.com (I publish maps on here)
-other places

Top Tens #3-Worst Four-Star Heroes

Okay, here it is!

#10A-Paris
His skill could potentially be really good, except heroes can walk out of the trap he creates. If the trap bound heroes into it, Paris would probably improve off this list.

#10B-Pettyfer
Better than Ragnar, although not by much... hero states don't matter much unless the hero can do LOTS of damage with AOE, and that's clearly not what Pettyfer has.

#9-Ragnar
Worse than Pettyfer because you actually have to kill enemy heroes. I think many three-stars are even better than Ragnar.

#8-Helmar
A weaker Reinhard that does better than Urza, because when Urza resurrects most enemies will already be attacking your backline.

#7-Bellerophon
He was never that good, mostly because he is a mounted archer. Initially everyone thought he was a cavalry unit, and that got everyone excited because that might actually have been good. But no, all he has are really bad mounted archer units. He isn't too bad because you could use him to destroy enemy healing or snipe heroes but there are better choices for both of these uses.

#6-Urza
Worst four-star pikeman. You could use as a substitute for Reinhard, but Helmar would be better.

#5-Hilda
She was initially pretty good as she could resurrect, then Triniti rekt her with a major skill debuff. They rebuffed her, but her skill is still not good.

#4-Hedvig
Very average. Increasing the cooldown might be ok on heroes like Reinhard, but overall Morgana is much better.

#3-Anatole
Restoring stats (which is a very low amount of every ally hero that has died) is bad enough since the stat amount is really low... but what makes it worse is that he is an archer with already low stats... plus those stats won't do much...

#2-William Tell
As far as I know, he is almost useless as his skill does not protect heroes from GDR reflection. Hero tanks are the only way to use him effectively, because typically AOE doesn't damage heroes too badly.

#1-Charles Martel
He was bad, and then Triniti nerfed him. R.I.P. CM

The Other William

Tomorrow: Top Tens #3-Worst Four-Stars. Obviously the classics, like Charles Martel, Bellerophon, Hilda, Hedvig, and Anatole, but what about others?

I'd like to use today's post on the other William (not Shakespeare, Wallace, the Conqueror, Kidd, Clarke, Howard Taft, Bradford, Wordsworth, the Prince of Britain, oh forget it there's too many).

William Tell.
He protects heroes from skill damage.

I can think of an obvious use for him: protecting AOE heroes from GDR reflection...
unless that doesn't count as skill damage?

From what I've seen, Seth is supposed to do extra damage to enemies who have taken skill damage, but using him with GDR doesn't make him do extra damage...

If he can't protect against GDR reflect I can't think of a good use for him... and he might end up on tomorrow's list.

Uriah

I don't understand the purpose of Uriah... he is so expensive and doesn't even do that much, at least in my opinion...

Friday, March 18, 2016

Saladin Stacking?

Would it be possible to stack Saladin's ability...?
For example, a Circe clones an enemy Saladin and the clone uses his skill in a row where Saladin has already proced...

I know the chances of this happening aren't high... but it's possible, isn't it?

Incomplete Guide Now Done

I finished an incomplete version of the full rally guide:

THE RALLY
The rally is essentially your army. It is the key to success in Mini Warriors. Therefore, it is VERY IMPORTANT you build your rally correctly. This page will give tips on how to go about doing this.

HEROES
Let's start with heroes, the backbone of the rally. Without good heroes placed well a rally cannot succeed.
Here I will copy-paste my Hero Ranking guide on which heroes are worth using. Note that every hero has a weakness and no hero is good against all.

The following is a list of heroes by my ranking. I hope this helps some of the newbier people. The list is alphabetical within classifications.

BEST (Must-use) 9-10
Alash (good tank until he sees AOE)
Gilles de Rais (very good tank, and the best counter for Merlin)
Hyacinth (must have, he will really amp up your frontline)
Ignatius (might be better than Leonidas, arcane dmg is a yes!)
Merlin (pretty good, but costs 3000 crystals :/ obliterates everything but Gilles.)
Octavius (gets better the lower on hp he is. counters GDR well.)
Reinhard (tanking god)
Terim (excellent tank)

BETTER (Good if used right) 7.5-9
3-star Archers (call the archers to come in, and make it rain death)
Achilles (very good hero wrecker)
Barfoot (good damage + good heals)
Belthor (polymorph is a good skill)
Carter (tanks all day long... until he finds pikemen or AOE)
Candello (an alternate of Cannon)
Cannon (a good tank and damager)
Cedric (healing tank can be useful)
Charles the Great (defensive and offesnvie at the same time... basically a much better El Cid)
Circe (fun to use and practical in late game)
Edward (use for his luck and dat damage)
Edward IV (strong at lower levels, not sure about using him later)
El Cid? (maybe good? too unpredictable sometimes)
Elizabeth (takes out heroes fast.)
Einar? (considering moving him up due to his amazing damage)
Eugene? (too unstable at times and procs when not needed)
Galahad (stun + smack)
Gawain (Lord of thee demons + rips through heals. Hyacinth hates him)
Hilda (really can save you some damage at later levels)
Joan (getting more and more trashy these days)
Kelly (quite good nowadays)
Lancelot (meh...okay I guess)
Leonidas (only low def that makes him weaker, and Achilles)
Manto (among the equivalents of Sarah and Philinus)
Mary Read (almost like Edward. May go up.)
Morgana? (I don't find quieting too too useful, but decent. Almost like Edward IV)
Pettyfer (okay)
Philinus (better than Sarah in some situations, such a lifesaver)
Robinhood (sometimes could help weakening defenses)
Saladin (particularly useful with Ignatius or Octavius)
Sarah (quite reduced in power by Manto, still decently good)
Sarky (big explosions + AOE)
Shazzo (the roaring/raving tank)
Seamas (formerly Summers, not that good but tanks decently)
Seth (seems like he could be better, but doesn't work too well at the moment)
Uriah (not good enough for his price, and costs 10000 crystals D:)
William (very versatile, but gets killed too much...good at lower levels, weakens the further you go up)
William Tell (okay I guess?)

GOOD (More difficult to use) 5.5-7.5
3-star Mages (polymorph mages)
3-star Musketeers maybe?
Anatole (absolute trash)
Bellerophon (summoning minions would be good on a cavalry or a paviser, or a mage or even a musketeer, but on mounted archer it's just a waste)
Hedvig? (stats are better than most arbalists, but skill is still bad)
Helmar (no tanking or damage ability)
Nicolai (no longer better than Bellerophon)
Paris (nope, this hero is not good)
Ragnar (berserking but tough to use)
Urza? (higher def than Leonidas, and more survivable, but still weak)

DECENT (Very difficult to use, hardly useful) 3-5.5
3-star Arbalists maybe?
3-star Savages maybe?
3-star Mounted Archers
3-star Healers
3-star Duelers with Shockwave
3-star Longswordsmen
3-star Mages (weakness curse mages)
3-star Five Lions members (Kent, Tyler, Joseph, and Matt) maybe?
3-star Tankers are decent, but they just don't have the survivability of their leader Carter. May go back down!
Charles Martel? (horrible ability-useless tank)

BAD (Don't use) 0.5-3
All other 3-stars

HORRIBLE (Very bad and will probably destroy your rally) 0-0.5
All 2-stars
All 1-stars

So now you know which heroes are typically better than others. But, this does not guarantee all, because if you just try to use all the "best" heroes there is a good chance your rally can still fail. So how is a good rally made? With hero combos.

HERO COMBOS
When heroes are combined, the results can be amazing. Combine heroes with attributes that would work together well. Examples include:

-Infantry hero with Scutarii for stuns, then adding a musketeer with Heavy Musketeers for the bonus damage.
-Throw Cantello or Cannon into the previous combo for even better results.
-Hyacinth with Octavius; as Octavius takes damage his attack increases-Hyacinth heals him and Octavius has more HP he can lose to buff his attack, potentially increasing his damage by a lot.
-Ignatius + Achilles + Saladin; Saladin's damage boost is HUGE! Once I saw a player who had finished a battle with this combo. Ignatius dealt 12,000,000 damage (that's 12 million) and Achilles dealt 10,000,000 (10 million) damage.
-El Cid + Carter; Carter already has really good anti-AOE tanking ability, and when combined with El Cid can completely nullify AOE damage.
-Add Hyacinth in to the previous combo to ensure Carter stays alive for longer, but as there are so many good uses for Hyacinth this might be a bit of a waste.
-Hyacinth + Gilles de Rais; GDR can put a lot of hurt on enemies that proc AOE on him, but unfortunately after sustaining AOE damage Gilles tends to die quickly, so add Hyacinth in to ensure he stays alive.
-Philinus + Reinhard; Do I even need to explain? Reinhard can be invincible half the time, and in the other half of the time he can take quite large amounts of damage, so have Phil heal him.
-Seth + AOE; The AOE hero damages enemies and boosts Seth's attack in doing so.
-etc.

But remember, hero combos aren't the only way to make a good rally. Another way is to predict the battle.

PREDICTING THE BATTLE
If you knew exactly what was going to happen in a battle, making rallies would be a great deal easier. But this isn't entirely possible.
I often find myself able to predict what can happen based on previous experiences.

For example:
-Arbalists will always attack straight forward until the enemy straight forward is dead.
-Cavalry like to charge forward, unless enemy units are in the back rows.
-Archers like to target the farthest enemy from them (remember there is also vertical and diagonal distance factoring into this)

But predicting the battle doesn't always work. An important thing to do is to use counters whenever possible.

COUNTERING
If you see an enemy hero, it's best to counter it. There are two types of countering:
-Direct Countering, where you use a hero that directly counters the enemy hero, or
-Minion Countering, where you use a hero with a certain minion type that has an offensive advantage against an enemy.

Direct Countering examples:
(in format COUNTER VS ENEMY)

-Gawain VS Hyacinth
-Achilles VS Alash
-Gilles de Rais VS Merlin/Sarky/other AOE
-Octavius VS Gilles de Rais
-Carter VS AOE

Minion Countering examples:
(in format COUNTER VS ENEMY)

-Infantry VS Pavisers
-Pikemen VS Infantry
-Pavisers VS Pikemen
-Mages VS Pavisers
-Pavisers VS Musketeers
-Pikemen VS Cavalry
-Cavalry VS Infantry
-Archer VS Arbalist, Cavalry
-Musketeer VS Mage, Archer

Rally Builder Guide

Rally Help will be paused indefinitely while I start working on something new for you guys.

That's right, a rally-builder guide.

The current Rally Help page will be cleared out soon, so make sure you get your reply quickly!

Rally Help may continue after the Rally Builder Guide is done.

I am not accepted more Rally Help requests until the Rally Builder Guide is done, so please do not post any.

Why am I doing this? Mostly because I have gotten lots of requests for this and I never got around to finishing other guides I started. But another reason is that it is apparently really hard to find a good rally guide these days (ZOLTAN's is for 1.7 I think...) so I guess I'll make one for you guys.

This will take quite a lot of time, however.

CONFIRMED/LIKELY CHANGES:
-Officers will be able to attack GVE castles.
-At least two new heroes.
-Bugfixes.

POSSIBLE CHANGES:
-A guild can attack multiple GVE castles.
-Changes to the way hero stats work.
-New gear and,
-a new crystal sale to get this new gear.

RUMORED CHANGES (some can be unlikely):
-A new morale skill.
-A new special stage.

I will add to this as we get closer to 2.1.

The Root of All Problems

There must be something in Mini Warriors that is the root of the problems that Mini Warriors has...
Finding this would be helpful...

Does anyone have any ideas?

Source Code

Recently someone has sent me an email with what they claim to be is the source code of Mini Warriors. Unfortunately it is encrypted and coded, so I have not been able to draw any conclusions from this yet. And no, unfortunately I cannot post the code here as it is HUGE (over 900,000 lines).

I'm pretty sure Mini Warriors lags because of this. (900,000 lines of code is a lot)

Top 10s #2-Tankiest Heroes

Here are my opinion of the tankiest heroes in this game right now based on how many different types of enemies they can tank and how effectively they tank each of these types of enemies.

#10-El Cid
El Cid protects all units nearby him, but if he dies, his squad gets ripped through easily. On top of that, he only protects against AOE. He is still okay, and can be better with Carter.

#9-Charles the Great
CtG has two squads, meaning he can tank for a while. Cavalry aren't typically the best unit for tanking, but CtG will hold back for a while.

#8-Carter
Carter is the perfect bane for AOE. He can nullify AOE effects if skill is maxed out and El Cid is partnering with him. However, if he isn't used against AOE he can fall quickly to pikemen.

#7-Cedric
Cedric is typically a better choice than Carter because he can tank almost anything

#6-Seamas
Seamas has two squads, similar to CtG, so he has extra tanking potential. The best part is that infantry don't have any really big weaknesses, so Seamas can be a good choice for tanking.

#5-Hyacinth
Hyacinth has an epic healing ability. 'Nuff said.

#4-Alash
Alash's epic dodge allows him to tank minions exceptionally well, but AOE kills him quick. So why is he this low? Achilles and Ignatius will rip through him easily.

#3-Reinhard
Reinhard is a very good tank and can tank all but two things. One is large mobs. There are only so many enemies that will go for the same target. After a while they will try finding other targets. The other is when hero-killers (Kelly, Robinhood) go for him.

#2-Terim
Terim is a very good tank because he is almost like a Reinhard that can resurrect himself. Only weakness? When enemy melee charges him he doesn't do too well, so make sure there is sufficient melee in his row to stop enemies from getting to him.

#1-Gilles de Rais
Gilles can tank anything and can do a good job of it too. So what's the catch? If GDR gets mobbed and too many enemies attack him, and he is not sufficiently supported, he will die quickly and his skill will be wasted as the reflected damage will be shared upon lots of enemies

Tank Flaws

This is my opinion on the weaknesses of the different tanks. Top 10s #2 will be released tomorrow.

Alash can get easily destroyed by pikemen such as Ignatius and especially Achilles, the ultimate bane of Alash. Alash also doesn't hold well against AOE.

Carter is basically the exact opposite. Although he too gets rekt by strong pikemen, he can hold better than Alash against weaker ones like Leonidas. Carter is perfect against AOE, but is weak against almost anything else.

GDR is the ultimate counterpart to Alash. He reflects damage, seriously creating problems for enemies like Ignatius, but also will do well against AOE. Gilles is more of a kamikaze, and he can't deal with large mobs well. That is what Alash excels at.

Reinhard is a god of tanks as he can hold against very nearly everything. From AOE to semi-large mobs, he will tank until the bloody end. Equipping health boosting gear on him increases his effect, and his only weakness is hero killer skills like those of Robinhood and Kelly. Reinhard can occasionally leak some large mobs as there is a limit to how many units can attack the same unit simultaneously.

Shazzo is a downgraded Alash, suited to tanking minion damages. He, like Alash, dies quickly to AOE.

Cedric is a good tank because of his healing ability, therefore the only way to kill him is with heavy damage applied quickly. This basically means you need multiple AOE procs on him to take him out of the fight.

Terim is a good tank because he has little weaknesses. He is essentially a Reinhard that can resurrect itself. To add on to that, he can deal good damage through his high luck and musketeers crit hits, like how Edward is used by most. Terim can get overrun if the frontline in his row breaks, or he gets rushed by cavalry. Being a musketeer, he can fall quickly to pikemen that have burst through.

Charles the Great is a semi-tank that does really well. Because he has two squads, he can hold enemies back for quite a while. He can lose these squads relatively quickly if he gets hit with AOE, however.

Cantello is the tankier of the two savage cavalry. He gets overrun by pikemen often.

Seamas, like CtG, has two squads, enabling him to hold back enemies for longer. He, too, dies to AOE.

These are just the heroes that are used most often as tanks. There are others that can be used, but are not seen as often.

Are Things Getting Better?

Eric_SG has posted an apology from Sam.
It explains that Triniti is short on experienced programmers and most of their staff are new out of college, etc. etc.
The apology:

Are things getting better?
Are they going to get better?
Is this the dawn of Mini Warriors?

"You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. Top 10s #1-Fallen Heroes

New series!
Anyways, this will just be a top ten ranking of a certain thing.
For example, this post is on the top ten "fallen heroes".

A fallen hero is one that was once much better but is no longer so good for various reasons.
Note: this is for Mini Warriors v2.0, and this may become inaccurate in the future as Triniti changes these heroes.

#10-3-Star Mounted Archers
For the same reasons as Nicolai, 3-Star Mounted Archers are considered a "fallen hero".

#9-Gawain
Gawain was nearly a must-have pikeman hero when he was introduced in Mini Warriors 1.7. With the introductions of Ignatius and Achilles, Gawain has dropped to an average switch-in/switch-out hero.

#8-3-Star Musketeers
For the same reasons as Sarky, 3-Star musketeers are considered a "fallen hero".

#7-Sarky
Even though Sarky is not too bad these days, he still has been nerfed pretty badly over the course of MW history. When you consider the fact that he was a god in Mini Warriors v1.0-v1.4, (dealt damage almost equal to Merlin) comparing it to his modern self shows how he has been nerfed as well as how stronger heroes have been introduced.

#6-William
William did tons of damage in early days... but then minions started mattering more than heroes, and AOE was unable to keep up. So William is now only good at lower levels.

#5-Joan
Joan could provide epic damage boosts. Her boosts are much better than those of Saladin's, but because she is inconsistent many players choose to use Saladin instead. She still remains decent, however.

#4-Shazzo
In the early days Shazzo was very good at stopping enemies, but he had his downfall in the 1.5 era. 1.5 nerfed both Shazzo and Hilda, and both lost popularity. With the rise of the AoE age of 1.6-1.7, and the introduction of tank busters such as Ignatius and Achilles, Shazzo became very average and is hardly used in the modern day.

#3-Carter
Carter, like Shazzo, was a good tank once, but he had his day in the sun. After AoE became popular and then tank busters, not to mention the release of Cedric, Carter immediately dropped in usage. Carter was an excellent tank through 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5, but those days are behind us. Now he is only ok at skill level 12, where he can block 75% of skill damage.

#2-Hilda
Hilda had an overpowered skill in the early days. She was able to resurrect fellow heroes and do a good job of countering Nicolai by saving heroes that were dead. But alas, Hilda's glory was not meant to be, and she was heavily nerfed by Triniti in the 1.5 update. After her skill was changed to a worthless one, the skill has been buffed slightly but still lacks power. Hilda will probably never attain the glory she once had.

#1-Nicolai
Nicolai was once probably the best hero in Mini Warriors. He could destroy all enemy heroes with just a couple procs. (remember that back then people were not as skilled and PvE capped out at Old World Stage 100) Heroes also mattered a lot more then. Now he is very average and no longer does enough damage for many players to keep him in their rallies.

Honorable Mentions:

3-Star Shazzo
3-Star William
3-Star Gawain
3-Star Leonidas
3-Star Carter
Reinhard (he was terrible at certain points in time but of course he isn't anymore)
Lancelot
Galahad
