Heroes Ranking

The following is a list of heroes by my ranking. I hope this helps some of the newbier people. The list is alphabetical within classifications.

BEST (Must-use) 9-10
Ignatius (might be better than Leonidas, arcane dmg is a yes!)
Merlin (pretty good, but costs 3000 crystals :/ obliterates everything but Gilles.)
Reinhard (tanking legend)
Terim (excellent tank)

BETTER (Good if used right) 7.5-9
3-star Archers (call the archers to come in, and make it rain death)
Achilles (very good hero wrecker)
Alash (good tank until he sees AOE)
Barfoot (good damage + good heals)
Belthor (polymorph is a good skill)
Carter (tanks all day long... until he finds pikemen or AOE)
Cantello (an alternate of Cannon)
Cannon (a good tank and damager)
Cedric (healing tank can be useful)
Charles the Great (can be excellent at fifth tier)
Circe (fun to use and practical in late game)
Edward (use for his luck and dat damage)
Edward IV (strong at lower levels, not sure about using him later)
El Cid (good tanking ability)
Elizabeth (takes out heroes fast.)
Einar? (considering moving him up due to his amazing damage)
Eugene? (too unstable at times and procs when not needed)
Galahad (stun + smack)
Gawain (Lord of thee demons + rips through heals. Hyacinth hates him)
Gilles de Rais (very good tank, and the best counter for Merlin)
Hilda (really can save you some damage at later levels)
Hyacinth (must have, he will really amp up your frontline)
Joan (getting more and more trashy these days)
Kelly (quite good nowadays)
Lancelot (meh...okay I guess)
Leonidas (only low def that makes him weaker, and Achilles)
Manto (among the equivalents of Sarah and Philinus)
Mary Read (almost like Edward. May go up.)
Morgana? (I don't find quieting too too useful, but decent. Almost like Edward IV)
Octavius (gets better the lower on hp he is. counters GDR well.)
Pettyfer (okay)
Philinus (better than Sarah in some situations, such a lifesaver)
Robinhood (sometimes could help weakening defenses)
Saladin (particularly useful with Ignatius or Octavius)
Sarah (quite reduced in power by Manto, still decently good)
Sarky (big explosions + AOE)
Shazzo (the roaring/raving tank)
Seamas (formerly Summers, not that good but tanks decently)
Seth (seems like he could be better, but doesn't work too well at the moment)
Uriah (not good enough for his price, and costs 10000 crystals D:)
William (very versatile, but gets killed too much...good at lower levels, weakens the further you go up)
William Tell (okay I guess?)

GOOD (More difficult to use) 5.5-7.5
3-star Mages (polymorph mages)
3-star Musketeers maybe?
Anatole (absolute trash)
Bellerophon (summoning minions would be good on a cavalry or a paviser, or a mage or even a musketeer, but on mounted archer it's just a waste)
Hedvig? (stats are better than most arbalists, but skill is still bad)
Helmar (no tanking or damage ability)
Nicolai (no longer better than Bellerophon)
Paris (nope, this hero is not good)
Ragnar (berserking but tough to use)
Urza? (higher def than Leonidas, and more survivable, but still weak)

DECENT (Very difficult to use, hardly useful) 3-5.5
3-star Arbalists maybe?
3-star Savages maybe?
3-star Mounted Archers
3-star Healers
3-star Duelers with Shockwave
3-star Longswordsmen
3-star Mages (weakness curse mages)
3-star Five Lions members (Kent, Tyler, Joseph, and Matt) maybe?
3-star Tankers are decent, but they just don't have the survivability of their leader Carter. May go back down!
Charles Martel? (horrible ability-useless tank)

BAD (Don't use) 0.5-3
All other 3-stars

HORRIBLE (So bad they should be removed)* 0-0.5
All 2-stars 
All 1-stars

*Just kidding, they add a bit of story into the game.

    What about savage Archers who stack atack infinite times?

      That fits under "3* savages" under decent. Savage Archers are not that good because there are better archers. Sure, they may stack attack, but it never really amounts to much in the short time of a battle. It battles were 10 or even 30 minutes long, Savage Archers would be excellent, bu battles are too short for them too be effective.

      3-star archers can be used well in SO MANY SITUATIONS and used poorly in just about as many, so I can't really give a stable rating. Sorry :/

    You have Jerome as a "must use". Yet, many I have seen have stated they are disappointed and don't use him. Your thoughts?

    i think that you should put reinhard in the "best (must use section)", he is a monster tank, won against people with 15k+ of ap higher than me thanks to him. in my case he can tank 2 full rows of enemies with the help of philinus and survive until the end. i like to place him in the second row leaving the first row empty and an archer in the row below his, since all the enemies melee heroes will rush to him and get massacred with the rain of arrows while they try to kill reinhard (never put him against morgana or (maybe) belthor), agaist any other heroes he does great. but change his row position if in the empty row there are cavalry units if not philinus will get killed or at least won't heal reinhard.

      I like Reinhard too, but because there are gaps in his skill, he still can be killed if the enemy counters with Elizabeth, Robinhood, Kelly (not the best choice), Gawain, etc. Overall a "Best" category hero is one that is both good AND versatile. Otherwise, they belong in the "Better" category, because while all four-stars can be good, not all four-stars can be very versatile.

      He is in BETTER: Saladin (particularly useful with Ignatius or Octavius) but don't have puntuation in the second list

    Hey rich, I found a good way to use seth, when you have NicolaI or any other mounted archer that hits all heros, for example- if the enemy has merlin with some troops in front, I can use a strong tank with sets and NicolaI inow the same row, then when the tank kills his way through and NicolaI releases his skill, sets arcane can kill merlin easily with 30% extra damage.

    I think Bellerophon is still one of the better heroes even though mounted archers are generally the weakest among all the unit classes - Considering how you have to spend alot of gold and unit badges to upgrade a unit squad size by one every time, instantly summoning like 10 seems to be pretty nifty
    Also once he reaches level 100, upgrade his mounted archers to nomadic cavalry and you have an army of high hp mounted ninjas, terminating every hero in their path.

      A good way to judge this is to look at the heroes used by the top players in the game, and you’ll see right away that they don’t use Bellerophon. They don’t use any mounted archers at all, actually. These are the heroes that you’ll find over and over in the rallies of the top players:

      Hyacinth & Merlin (virtually everyone who has them uses them)
      Tanks: Cantello, Gilles, Reinhard, Seamas
      Damage-dealers: Achilles, Alash, Belthor, Cannon, Edward, Ignatius, Sarky
      Anti-hero: Elizabeth, Kelly, Morgana, Robinhood
      Summoners: Circe, Terim
      Team support: Edward IV, Philinus, Saladin

      Sometimes you’ll see a few others, like Cedric, Gawain, Shazzo, or Lancelot (not so often though), even occasionally a three-star archer. But never Bellerophon.

      The same information makes me think Gamerichie is overestimating Octavius, too. The top players don’t use him.

      I'm doing this ranking as just a general ranking for all types of players, and Octavius is typically a very good hero. Octavius is bad if you use him incorrectly.
      Example: Octavius must have crusader minions, high luck, minion luck necklace, and not be in front row (second works best).
      Use heal orb on him after ~5 seconds of tanking and Hyacinth in his row works wonders.

    you should correct the description about carter, he is basicaly an anti-aoe tank with his skill at lvl 12 the dmg reduction od skills will be 75% and if you equip him with the advance magic necklace, he will have an reduction of 95% so basically skills will be useless against him and with 5 stars ring, armor and helm, he will be a very solid tank...maybe even better than alash in some situations

    Like what the hell saladin is the better with achilles then octavius and cantello is ways better then hycarinth or cannon.If your prestige level is over 90 the healing halo from hycarinth is nothing.....

    Don't agree with his opinion on bellerphon, use him with nomadic cavalry, give him as much luck as possible with the equipment that has luck stats and give him one of them necklace that gives heroes units 50% of heroes luck and critical damage boost, above 60% extra crit damage is sufficient. In PvP battles that are equally matched and go on for more than 2mins he is a enemy heroes worst nightmare, keep Joan close by for even better effect, using bellerphon and ninjas will make short work of most heroes, doing that will keep enemy philinus busy

    Eh... Ninjas are god in this game. Throw down 5 or 6 of these at high level and it won't matter what heroes u use to keep the enemy busy... The ninjas will walk through the army decimating as they go and watch them turn the enemy into dust

    Eluji Mandeok is like one of the best(not on the list)... And I actually find be bellerophon to be usefull, because as my people are attacking she is constantly growing and if need be a huge damage sponge... at the same time if I have my army upfront her army (squad) is reking everyone because she in the back constantly growing

    Belle and octavius should trade places here. At level 100+ nomadic calvalry bellerophon is one of the best hero killers there is. Also seth can be one of the best damage dealers. Arcane arrow is insane when combinde with some aoe-damage hero, at skill level 10 210% extra damage! Add joan and robinhood nearby and it is an unstoppable combo
