A New Experiment

While I'm working on thePVP experiment, I'm also working on another one: how
are skill proc rates calculated?

  1. I truly believe it all has to do with a characters skill level (not BoK) and the type of equipment they have on. That and just complete randomness. As a side question that's totally unrelated, what word do you think is said on the battle load up screen? To me it sounds like jibberish. Maybe "warriors?" But I honestly can't understand it.

    1. The battle load screen says

"Entering the battlefield" when you begin a battle and "Leaving the battlefield" when you exit/finish.

And once you click "Battle", it says FIGHT.

    2. I guess I didn't clarify well enough. I'm not curious as to what is on the screen. And I didn't mean when you click battle. You hear voices say something at the battle load screen. That's what I'm trying to figure out.

  2. I've read that the skills have a certain percentage of happening every attack the hero does. If he has a cooldown, the chance of the skill is postponed until the cooldown runs out.

  3. The cooldown applies when the skill is actually done, so if the hero doesnt do the skill, he doesnt have a cooldown.

  4. Since different units attack at different speeds, the percentage between a mage and spearman is somewhat misleading. Merlin and Gawain both have 30% for their skills, but since Gawain attacks faster, his chance of procing is higher than Merlin's, who attacks much slower.

  5. I like the sound of that. I was thinking though you would have to take each attack a hero does as a a completely new attack. What I'm trying to say is the same theory as a dice roll or a spin of the roulette wheel. Each roll or spin is separate from the next. No matter how many times a certain number comes up or the ball lands on black or red in a row, it has nothing to do with the previous roll or spin.

  6. The only problem with this theory in MW's is no one sees their hero process rate much higher than it is. For example, Nicolai has a 50% chance to do damage to all hero's. If this was the case he would should proceed more often. But this is exactly what the theory is about. Each attack has to be completely separate from the previous.

  7. I think I know what you're saying and I believe the reason heroes dont proc more as often is because of cooldowns, which limits the amount of times they can proc, obviously.

  8. You are also correct about the attack thing as well, each attack is seperate from the previous and the next. The chance of the skill happening in one attack has no influence on the chance on the other attacks, except when the cooldown is set.
